To say I LOVE that young girls are starting to see the contradictions in the fashion and health and beauty industries would be a huge understatement.
Watch seventeen year old Alice Wilder make her point–her point, my point, your point, and the point so many of us are trying to make–that our worth as humans is not dependent on how we measure up to someone else’s idea of what happy and healthy look like. She does it with respect, which is more than I think the publishers of Seventeen magazine and the producers of The Biggest Loser deserve.

Magazines like Seventeen, Glamour, Vogue do more harm to women’s images thatn most anything. Adds for weight loss on television are rampant. It is good that teens are seeing their right to be who they are and not in some image that has been airbrushed to un reality..
